The Ponte della Costituzione is the fourth bridge over the Grand Canal and its most modern. the bridge was designed by Santiago Calatrava and installed amid public protest regarding its lack of wheelchair access, lack of necessity and its modernist style.

The bridge is an arched truss bridge that spans about 80 meters (260 feet), widths of 9-18 meters (30-58 feet) and clears 7 meters or 23 feet at high tide.
