Pontiac Fiero

Pontiac Fiero

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (PA), US
The Pontiac Fiero, derived from the Italian word for "very proud", was America's first mid-engined sports car intended for mass production, first introduced in 1983 for the 1984 model year. Despite selling more units than the W10 MR2, its reputation had been sullied by safety, reliability, and performance issues, with the most notable one involving a recall involving engine fires. A couple of prototypes for 1989 and 1990 had been built as well, but were never officially put into production.
