On Saturday 6th April 2024 at 10:36 UTC, Zdenko 9A4FM, a radio amateur from Croatia, made contact with Krzysztof OK/SP1MVG/P, a radio amateur from Poland, who was operating from PP Pod Šipinem (OKFF-2117), on the 40m amateur radio band. Krzysztof made a total of 108 contacts while at the reserve.
PP Pod Šipinem (OKFF-2117)[Under Šipín], is a protected area of 0.3624 hectares, lying along the banks of the Uterské, to the north-west of Pilsen in the Czech Republic. In 1965 it was designated as a Nature Reserve and is an IUCN Management Category IV area.
An IUCN Management Category IV area is an area to protect particular species or habitats and are managed to prioritise this objective.
