On Saturday 6th April 2024 at 11:51 UTC, Fred DL8DXL, a radio amateur from Germany, made contact with Olaf DL7CX using the callsign OK8CX/P, a radio amateur from Germany, who was operating from PR Podhorní vrch (OKFF-0833), on the 40m amateur radio band. Olaf was at the summit of Podhorní vrch (847m asl) and made a total of 56 contacts while at the reserve.
PR Podhorní vrch (OKFF-0833), is a protected area of 31.9426 hectares, lying to the north-west of Pilsen in the Czech Republic. In 1997 it was designated as a Nature Reserve and is an IUCN Management Category IV area.
An IUCN Management Category IV area is an area to protect particular species or habitats and are managed to prioritise this objective.
