Pwll-y-Pant Viaduct was a railway viaduct that started construction in 1898 and the first train crossed it in 1905. The vaiduct was a double tracked 800 yard long viaduct. At Pwll-y-Pant the viaduct crossed the main line of the Rhymey Railway (still active) and the river Pwll-y-Pant. The other sections of the viaduct were 11 steel girder spans resting on brick abutments and ten piers, eight of which were over 100 feet in hieght. The north had four semicircular brick arches of 36 feet.

What's left today:
Most of the viadcut has now been demolished, but one of the 36 feet tall brick arches still remain and an old abutment on the other side of the still active Rhymey Railway still remains.
