Inbound and departing traffic into the many airports of the Dallas/Fort Worth area is neatly sorted along specific routes and altitudes that are based on navigation fixes on three VOR navigation beacons that are more or less arranged across the DFW area- one in Dallas, one at DFW Airport, and one in Fort Worth.
This is VORTAC antenna named "RANGER" in Colleyville/North Richland Hills just southeast of Lockett Rd and Precinct Line Rd.
The VOR in Dallas is named COWBOY and the VOR at the DFW Airport is named MAVERICK.

I heard from a Realtor that this is evenutally coming down (with the satellite technology availalbe). Would be good to know if there is any truth to this as this is the one and only reason given by potential buyers why none of the 6 homes on the market in the neighborhood have not sold in the last 2 years.

Houses in this neighborhood are selling. Some of the home owners have said that this is the best neighbor they have ever had. It is quiet and they do not have to worry about another house going in behind them.

I live in this neighborhood and close to this Vortac. There is no issue with this Vortac, it's quite and does not make any noise and the FAA keeps and maintains the area around it. I have seen houses sell in this neighborhood with no problems. There is no issue with any reception of TV or Internet either. This Vortac has no impact what so ever.
