Raymond Berry Oakley III (April 4, 1948 – November 11, 1972) was a bass guitar player and founding member of the Allman Brothers Band. He died in a motorcycle accident in Macon not far from where his bandmate Duane Allman perished in a motorcycle crash.

In 1998 the Georgia Legislature passed a resolution naming the bridge after Oakley.
