RAF Boulmer was an airfield used by the Royal Air Force during WWII. The airfield was constructed in 1940. Originally used to lure enemy bombers away from operational bases nearby. Boulmer orignially had grass strips, which were later replaced by three tarmac runways.
What's left today:
Pilboxes and sections of perimeter track still remain. An intact section of runway and taxiway now forms part of a caravan park. From the sky, the former runways can still clearly be seen. Most of the airfield has become fields.
