Remains of Smokey Yunick's garage

Daytona Beach, Florida (FL), US
On April 25, 2011, an historical auto repair shop was gutted by flames. The legendary motorsports mechanic Smokey Yunick's Best Damn Garage in Town operated from 1947-87. It sat vacant for years, but served as a tourist attraction for visiting auto racing fans. Investigators ruled arson was the cause of the fire.

Yunick was an innovator in the early years of American motorsports, primarily with NASCAR stock cars and the Indianapolis 500. His legacy has been honored by several motorsports halls of fame. He passed away in 2001 at the age of 77.

what a damn shame, nothing is sacred in this country anymore...i.e. lately mobs tear down statues in broad daylight, video it, and put it on the net...while the cops do nothing...
