Remains of the Colne and Trawden Light Railway

The Colne and Trawden Light Railway was a tramway that operated between Colne and Trawden in England. The line was active from 1903 to 1934.

The tramway closed in 1934. It is estimated that the service had travelled over 4,582,000 miles and carried about 57.5 million passengers during the years it was active.

Today most the track has been removed, but traces of the cobbled road and the single rail can still be seen in Trawden. The terminus in Trawden was demolished and the terminus in Colne was also demolished.

In this view the old cobbled stone road is clearly seen, but you can also see that some of the cobbled stones have been placed in the position of where the single rail would have been making it clear where the rail was.
