Mancs (full name Miskolci Sátán Mancs; 1994 – October 22, 2006) was a male German Shepherd, a rescue dog of the Spider Rescue Group in Miskolc. He participated in several successful rescue operations. He became truly famous after the 1999 earthquake in Izmit (Turkey), when a three-year-old girl was rescued from the rubble with his help, where she had been trapped for 82 hours. Mancs also participated in rescue operations during the 2001 earthquakes in El Salvador and India.
There are two Mancs monuments: one in his home town, Miskolc, Hungary and one in Izmit, Turkey.
