On July 13th 1966 at 11:00pm, Richard Speck invaded the townhouse at 2319 East 100th Street, Chicago, Il. and murdered 8 student nurses; Gloria Davy, Patricia Matusek, Nina Jo Schmale, Pamela Wilkening, Suzanne Farris, Mary Ann Jordan, Merlita Gargullo, and Valentina Pasion. The only survivor was Cora Amurao who went on to be the lone eyewitness that helped convict Speck of the murders. Speck was convicted of all 8 murders and sentenced to death. The death sentence was later overturned and Speck eventually died in prison at the age of 49 in 1991.
