Ronald Vinci made millions with a string of Honda dealerships in Southern California before moving to Fort Lauderdale.

According to Fort Lauderdale police, the 70-year-old Vinci wanted to end his relationship with Catherine Pileggi. It resulted in what police called a “violent confrontation” that ended in Vinci’s death inside his newly purchased Tarpon River mansion. He had bought the new home less than a month ago, according to property records.

Police went to the two-story Tarpon River home June 28, after getting a call reportedly saying that Vinci’s body had been found wrapped in duct tape. When officers went inside the home, they found Vinci’s body covered with bedding and plastic bags.

Pileggi turned herself over to police Tuesday night. Investigators said they had several pieces of evidence linking Pileggi to the homicide, but they did not describe them.

They also did not say how exactly Vinci was killed.
