He is best known for his number one pop hit "Escape" (subtitled "The PiƱa Colada Song") in 1979, his Tony Award winning musical "Drood" (originally "The Mystery of Edwin Drood") and his more recent Broadway musical "Curtains". He purchased the 4-bed, 3-bath, 2,280 sq ft home (built in 2005) in January of 2009 for $860K, according to public records.
