Gupta joined CNN in 2001 as a medical correspondent and covered the September 11 attacks from New York. In 2003, he traveled to Iraq to cover the war. In 2006, he began contributing regular reports for CBS Evening News and 60 Minutes. After guest hosting CBS News Sunday Morning in 2007 and Larry King Live in 2009, he began to regularly appear on several talk and panel shows, including Late Show with David Letterman, The Daily Show, Real Time with Bill Maher, and the Oprah Winfrey Show.
Sanjay Gupta has been married to Rebecca Olson since 2004. They have three daughters.
