On Wednesday, 28th August 2024, Ulrich OE3UEA/P, a radio amateur, from Austria, reached the summit of Schwarzwand in the Kärnten Province in the south of Austria. He activated the summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 5 contacts in total working on the 2m and 20m amateur radio bands.
The summit of Schwarzwand is 2214 metres (7264 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
