On Monday 4th July 2022 Ken K6HPX/P a radio amateur from Tucson, AZ reached the summit of Slate Mountain and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 9 contacts in total working on the 60, 30 and 17 metre HF amateur radio bands.
The summit of Slate Mountain is 2505 metres (8219 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
