On Saturday 10th September 2022, Colm EI9KY/P, a radio amateur from County Waterford in Ireland reached the summit of Slievenamon and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 31 contacts in total working on the 40 and 20 metre HF amateur radio bands.
The summit of Slievenamon is 720 metres (2362 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
