Soldeu-El Tarter

Soldeu-El Tarter

Soldeu, Andorra (AD)
Soldeu-El Tarter is actually two-fifths of the Grandvilara ski resort. Soldeu (on the east) "is the birthplace of skiing in the Principality of Andorra. Andorran skiing was born in Soldeu in 1924, when the Soldeu postman decided to exchange his typical snowshoes for the long wooden sticks that he’d seen used by the inhabitants ofthe French village of Porta. When the villagers saw him using these strange artefacts, they were surprised, but it didn’t take long to follow in his footsteps (or his ski tracks!)."
