Southern Nevada Women's Correctional Center

The Nevada Department of Prisons selected Corrections Corporation of America as the private corrections contractor to design, build, and operate a correctional facility for women in Las Vegas. The Southern Nevada Women’s Correctional Facility opened in September 1997. In November 1998 the institution was accredited by the American Correctional Association. On October 1st, 2004, the Nevada Department of Corrections assumed control of the center.
