The legendary Canadian weapons engineer Gerald Bull operated Space Research Corporation at a test site of some 6,000 acres (2,400 ha) which straddled the Canada – United States border between Highwater, Quebec, and Jay, Vermont. Here he developed and tested powerful, long-range guns. Bull was assassinated in 1990.
