SpaceX's McGregor Test Site

SpaceX's McGregor Test Site

McGregor, Texas (TX), US
This is the McGregor, TX location of SpaceX. I live near here and have heard several rocket tests.

SpaceX headquarters is located in Hawthorne, California, near Los Angeles International Airport. Our vehicle manufacturing and design integration facilities are housed in Hawthorne’s 550,000 square foot facility, and it is here that we build all our space systems 'from the ground up'. Engine and large-scale structural testing occurs at our 300-acre test site in McGregor, Texas, near Waco. SpaceX operates launch facilities at the Kwajalein Atoll (Reagan Test Site) in the Marshall Islands, at Cape Canaveral, Florida, and at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California. SpaceX also maintains offices in Washington, D.C.

My father worked on solid propellant rocket engines at this facility back in the 1950s when it was Phillips 66, then Rocketdyne and then North American Aviation

My grandfather worked and retired from there from 40s to 60s, after working as Treasury/Govt Auditor through various contractors and incarnations. He lived in home right across the street, and I remember every time I would visit I would run across the street and climb onto missile mock-ups in front of main building. Sometimes we would sit on his front porch and hear the engines, and watch the engines firing at night! I remember Rocketdyne, Hercules, in/around 60s-70s-80s

We live between Valley Mills and Clifton, and sure wish we knew a little ahead of time when the Rocket testing will occur..it is quite uncomfortable for our animals.

It is awful living close to this site. Shake our house so badly that pictures fall off walls. Ruining foundations.
