The SS Beaver State (T-ACS-10) was converted for the Missile Defense Agency at Cascade General Shipyards in Portland to an X-Band Transportable Radar Ship, designated (XTR-1) and renamed SS Pacific Tracker, April 1, 2009.
The MV Pacific Collector works as mainly as a "downrange" asset for closely monitoring the telemetry of ballistic missiles in flight.
