More than just a cargo plane. That's a P-3 Orion antisubmarine aircraft. That long boom off the rear is used to isolate a magnetic detector from the rest of the plane. As it flies over the water the "MAD Boom" detects variations in magnetic fields that indicate a sub below the water. Great catch!
