Steve Green is the President of Hobby Lobby, which was founded by his father, David Green.

Beginning in 2009, various representatives of Hobby Lobby began receiving a large number of clay bullae and tablets originating in the ancient Near East. The artifacts were intended for the Museum of the Bible, funded by the Green family. Internal staff had warned superiors that the items had dubious provenance and were potentially looted from Iraq. US Customs agents seized a number of shipments in 2011, which triggered a years-long struggle between Hobby Lobby and the federal government, ending in 2017, with the civil foreifiture of the artifacts. Hobby Lobby agreed to return the artifacts and pay a fine of US$3,000,000. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement returned 3,800 items seized from Hobby Lobby to Iraq in May 2018. In March 2020 the Hobby Lobby president agreed to return 11,500 items to Egypt and Iraq.
