Stone Ship Setting and Burial Mounds

Stone Ship Setting and Burial Mounds

Vorbasse, Denmark (DK)
Bække Skibssætning is a stone ship setting from the Viking age sitting between two burial mounds from the Bronze Age. Although many stone ship settings were built during the Iron Age, this has been dated back to the Viking age. Only a few of the original stones remain at the site today and the missing stones have been replaced with modern markers. A rune stone sits at the bow of the ship.
