On Saturday 3rd September 2022, Paul K9PM/P, a radio amateur from Box Elder, SD reached the summit of Sunset Summit and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 86 contacts in total working on the 2 metre VHF and the 60, 40, 20, 17 and 15 metre HF amateur radio bands.
The summit of Sunset Summit is 2350 metres (7710 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
