On Sunday 26th June 2022 JA8XUB/1 a Japanese radio amateur, reached the summit of Takane and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
JA8XUB/1 made 21 contacts in total working on the 2 meters VHF amateur radio band.
The summit of Takane is 2779 metres (9117 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA groups data base.
