To be the future home of Shamrock Rovers FC, was scheduled to open in 2003. Planning delays and financial problems pushed back the opening to a scheduled completion in early summer 2006. However on going litigation involving South Dublin County Council, the Irish Government, Shamrock Rovers FC, and Thomas Davis GAA club have further delayed the completion of the stadium.
