The EDP Gran Vía Theater (former Philips Gran Vía Theater of Light) opened its doors in 1944 as the Gran Vía Cinema and took its first steps as a theatrical space between 1947 and 1950. The Gran Vía Cinema resumed its activity in 1994 after of a reform, and it is from 2004 when it receives the corresponding authorization from the Madrid City Council to become a space for the performing arts.

It has a capacity of 950 seats.
