Opened in 1902, the Algonquin has hosted innumerable literary and theatrical greats. This was the home of the Round Table, a group of journalists, authors, publicists and actors who gathered daily over lunch. This group included Robert Benchley, Heywood Broun, Marc Connelly, George S. Kaufman, and Dorothy Parker. The hotel was designated a New York City Historic Landmark in 1987.
