The Bernat Picornell Swimming Pools, in
the Montjuïc Olympic Ring, were rebuilt
to be the venue for the swimming and
synchronised swimming events and for the
final of the water polo. The project, which
was entrusted to the architects Franc
Fernandez and Moisés Gallego, with the
assistance of the Estudi Camp engineering
consultancy, included the construction of
two Olympic-sized pools and two
service and administration buildings.

The venue also includes an open-air
diving pool.
