On Friday, 6th December 2024, VK3YY, a radio amateur, from a suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, reached the summit of The Cascades in the Snowy Mountains of New South Wales, Australia. He activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 5 contacts from the summit working on the 40m amateur radio band.
