The Shire of Bend Oregon

Prior to the 2008 housing crash, property developer Ron Myers began building this community, "The Shire", inspired by the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Only 6 homes, of the original 31 were built, and only 2 of them were built in the Hobbit style. The community was renamed Forest Creek, however the main roads are still Ring Bearer Court and Shire Lane.
