Turkey Point Light (Birds Eye)
Located at the head of the Chesapeake Bay in Elk Neck State Park, this lighthouse was built in 1833. It began providing electric light in 1942 and became automated in 1947. Fannie May Salter was the last female lighthouse keeper in the United States by tending to this light from 1925-1947.

The lighthouse was used as a watchtower during World War II. The house located next to the light was torn down in 1972. The light was added to the National Register of Historical Places in 2002.

Scenes from the 1998 movie "Dead Man's Curve" were filmed here. It starred Matthew Lilliard, Michael Vartan, Randall Batinkoff, Keri Russell, and Dana Delany.
