On Friday 29th October 2022, Markus IN3ADF/P, a radio amateur from Italy reached the summit of Vallaccia and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 72 contacts in total working on the 60, 40 20, 17 and 12 metre HF amateur radio bands.
The summit of Vallaccia is 2637 metres (8652 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
