On Sunday 18th September 2022, Conor AI5EZ, a radio amateur from Santa Fe, NM reached the summit of Vallecito Mountain and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

He made 31 contacts in total working on the 40 and 20 metre HF amateur radio bands.
