VB-10,000 Lift Vessel

VB-10,000 Lift Vessel

Sabine Pass, Texas (TX), US
This ship is the largest lift vessel ever constructed in the United States. The claw design on the ship is a "gantry-suspended submersible grappling device" which is used to recover sunken debris without requiring divers to attach ropes. The lift capacity of each of the two claws is 1800 metric tons, which can lift things from as deep as 110 meters underwater. The ship is used primarily to right toppled ships and offshore platforms.
