Villa Cornaro was built in 1551 for Giorgio Cornaro.
Carl and Sally Gable, of Atlanta, purchased the villa for $2M USD. The couple listed the villa for sale for $45M USD in the summer of 2017.
The villa was used as influence for President Thomas Jefferson in designing his home, Monticello, as well as Drayton Hall, an 18th-century plantation house in Charleston, South Carolina.
