Fashion power couple Dolce and Gabbana own this historic home. True to their nature, the house itself is heavily gilded and maximalist in design.
From 1980s until the end of the 1990s Villa Olivetta was a rented summer residence of Italy's former prime minister Silvio Berlusconi, who rented the villa from its original owners, the Italian family Trossi Fracassi.
The Trossi Fracassi, the rumours say, didn't want to sell the villa to Mr. Berlusconi, and ultimately sold it to Italian fashion-designer duo Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana for 10 billion Italian liras.
About 50 metres away lies Italian stylist Giorgio Armani's villa, Castel San Giorgio.
