West Park was built in 1924 as the final 'Epsom Cluster'. One of several asylums built to ease the over crowding of London's asylums. As of today the hospital is practically all closed, with only a small part still used. The hospital could hold anything up to over 2000 patients at any one time so there is a lot to see and many buildings. Time is running out for West Park, like the rest of the 'Epsom Cluster' the hopsital site is awaiting development for the governments 'affordable homes' programme.
