The Wichita Boathouse is a unique highlight along the river that celebrates the past but also looks to the future. Done in the stately architectural style of the original boathouse that was a city landmark a century ago, the Wichita Boathouse features a popular banquet hall with a veranda overlooking the river.
An exact replica of the America's Cup trophy is on permanent display along with the Jayhawk, an International America's Cup Class yacht. The Joseph Gembeck 'History of Seafaring' nautical collection of handcrafted maritime miniatures are also on permanent diaplay.
Located on the Arkansas River near Wichita's downtown, this modern 15,000-square-foot facility serves as a focal point for many "River City" activities. A staffed Visitor Information Center for Wichita and the surrounding community is now located in the Boathouse featuring interactive kiosks of area attractions, a lodging reservation center, brochure racks, and numerous displays.
