Brother of Canadian billionaire Sam Belzberg, and brother-in-law of former 20th century fox President Strauss Zelnick, lived here.

In 1976 Mr. Belzberg and his family moved to Beverly Hills, California to assume the position of Chairman and CEO of Westminster Capital, Inc, which was a publicly traded company on the Pacific and American Stock Exchanges that subsequently has become a privately owned corporation. Mr. Belzberg is currently the President, Chairman and CEO as well as a principal owner of Westminster Capital, Inc. Mr. Belzberg was Chairman and President of First City Industries, a real estate development company which developed apartment buildings, office buildings, industrial buildings and subdivisions for residential developments.

Mr. Belzberg's active involvement in the community is long-standing. He has served as Chairman-North America, State of Israel Bonds, is a member of the Board of Governors of Cedars Sinai Medical Center, and is a past board member of the Weizmann Institute of Science. Mr. Belzberg was also on the Board of the Claremont Colleges. Together with his brothers, he founded the Yeshiva University of Los Angeles, The Simon Wiesenthal Center and the Dystonia Medical Research Foundation. Mr. Belzberg is a current Trustee of the Simon Wiesenthal Center for Holocaust Studies as well as a member of its Executive Committee.

Mr. William Belzberg is the brother of Sam Belzberg, not his son. William Belzberg died peacefully at his home in April 2014.
