William Fahnestock was the senior partner in Fahnestock & Co., which he founded with his father. The company later became OppenheimerFunds, a now defunct global asset management company.
The 19,000 sqft 23 bedroom, 14 bath “Bois Doré” was built in 1927 by architect Charles A. Platt.
