Windsor Bridge spans the River Thames in a north west south east direction between Windsor and Eton on the south east and north west banks respectively. The iron and granite bridge was designed by Charles Hollis and opened in 1824 as a toll bridge. It was freed from tolls in 1898 and closed to vehicular traffic in 1970. Today it is used by pedestrians and cyclists.
