On Saturday 9th July 2022 Gary K7UOU a radio amateur from Anthem, AZ reached the summit of Notch Mountain and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 13 contacts in total working on the 2 metre VHF and the 40, 20, 17 and 15 metre HF amateur radio bands.
The summit of Notch Mountain is 2615 metres (8579 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA groups database.
