On Sunday 11th September 2022, Katsu JR8MHA/7, a radio amateur from Japan reached the summit of Yakeishidake and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 18 contacts in total working on the 40, 20, 17 and 15 metre HF amateur radio bands.
The summit of Yakeishidake is 1547 metres (5075 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
