On the night of July 6, 2007, Viktor Sayenko and Igor Suprunyuk, commonly known as the Dnipropetrovsk Maniacs, encountered 28-year-old Yelena Shram at the corner of Bohdan Khmelnytsky Street and Kosiora Street. The Sayenko and Suprunyuk approached her and proceeded to beat her to death with a sledgehammer.
