On Saturday 23rd July 2022 Kaz 7N1FRE/1 a radio amateur from Japan reached the summit of Yusengatake and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 44 contacts in total working on the 2 metre VHF, 70 cm UHF and the 20, 17 and 15 metre HF amateur radio bands.
The summit of Yusengatake is 2333 metres (7654 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA groups database.
