On Wednesday 24th August 2022, Hans DL/HB9BHW/P a radio amateur from Switzerland reached the summit of Zugspitze and activated this summit on the radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 11 contacts in total working on the 2 metre VHF and the 40 metre HF amateur radio bands.
The summit of Zugspitze is 2962 metres (9718 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
